Fingerstyle Blues Guitar 101
by Duck Baker
reviewed by Lee "Drew" Andrews
Duck Baker, Fingerstyle player extraordinaire, has put together a new Blues Guitar Method which covers the basics to get you up and running. He starts with a simple intro using the Blues in E. This gets the fingers moving, showing us the use of thumb (bass lines) and the fingers which play the melody.
After a brief music theory section covering major scales, and chords we are launched into the all-important world of turnarounds. The following tunes are presented in ease of use, and each teaches new techniques, chords and stylings. Blues in the keys of A, C, E, and G are covered. As tunes progress so does the difficulty of the tunes, techniques like hammer-ons, pull-offs, and bends are also introduced through the book.
Fingerstyle Blue's Guitar 101 is a book developed for those player interested in learning this great American guitar style.
